How we score and test AI tools.
One rubric, seven signals, a 0–100 BigBang Score. Applied the same way to all 92 tools across 9 categories, with no paid placements.
What the BigBang Score measures.
Each signal has a fixed ceiling. A tool's BigBang Score is the plain sum of its seven sub-scores - no category bonuses, no hidden weighting, no editor override.
Sources, not vibes.
Every tool is graded against the same seven signals. Pricing is read from the vendor's own pricing page, capabilities and API support are checked against the official documentation, and update frequency comes from public changelogs and release notes over the last 90 days. Tool data is refreshed weekly and every editorial review is revisited at least every 90 days. Comparison pages put two tools through the identical rubric side by side, so a difference in score is always traceable to a specific signal.
Independent. No paid placements.
No tool can pay for a higher score, a ranking, a featured slot or a comparison win. Some links are affiliate links; they are disclosed inline and never change a score, a rank or a verdict. Prices are accurate as of the date shown on each review or guide - vendors change them often, so check before you buy. Drafting is AI-assisted, and every review and guide is fact-checked by a human before it is published. Spotted an error? Email [email protected].
